In June of 2022, Humboldt County voted overwhelmingly in favor of measure J, commonly known as the Hotel tax. The revenue generated from this tax increase is in part to be given to the Arts.

On Tuesday February 7th, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will be deciding on the spending plans for the revenue generated from Measure J. We are advocating that our arts programs be fully funded. If you have a story to share on how art or theater has impacted your life, please join us at the meeting, in person or via zoom, and encourage the board to fully fund the arts in Humboldt County. This is the only funding opportunity that the arts and culture sector receives from Humboldt County.
